Jungkooks most lavish purchases and quirky spending revealed: BTS golden maknae splashes milli

Jungkook’s practicality makes him so relatable that when fans spot the items he uses, they are then often sold out, proving his immense influence as a K-pop idol.

However, there are moments when Jungkook veers away from his modest lifestyle, flexing his estimated net worth of US$20 million.

As the youngest member of BTS turns 24 on September 1, here’s a look back at some of Jungkook’s luxury purchases and weird spending habits.

BTS’ net worths, ranked – which member is the richest?

Property in Itaewon

In November 2020, it was reported that Jungkook dropped US$7 million on a two-storey house in Itaewon. According to K-pop news website Koreaboo, quoting a report from Etoday, the house spans 2,483 square feet.

Koreaboo also noted the affluence of Itaewon, adding that the area is home to well-known celebrities, including power couple Rain and Kim Tae-hee. The house is near Nine One Hannam, where fellow BTS members Jimin and RM have luxury flats, and The Hill, where the group still share a flat as a “dorm”.

A Benz for his folks

Jungkook likes to give back, especially to his parents. In 2018, he gifted his mum and dad a Mercedes-Benz, though he has never spoken about the gift. According to Lifestyle Asia, Jungkook also has a Merc, driving an AMG GT 63 S four-door. Car site reviewer Carbuzz estimates that the model’s starting price is US$161,900.

He wears laid-back clothes but favours luxury labels when performing

Each member of BTS has a distinct, off-duty style. Jungkook’s fashion tends to lean towards the laid-back and casual. His favourite brands include H&M and Topman, and streetwear labels Off-White and Obey, according to Soompi.

However, when he’s on stage performing, Jungkook sports luxury clothing. During this year’s BTS Muster Sowoozoo event held last June, Jungkook rocked a yellow Fendi patterned shirt and bracelet and waltzed in a white Prada derby shoes for his performance of Butter.

According to Fendi’s website, the yellow silk shirt costs US$1,290, while the bracelet is priced at US$520. The white derby shoes are available on Prada’s website but the price is not listed. The same style in black is priced at US$995.

He owns a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

Of course, no outfit is complete without a luxurious accessory, and in Jungkook’s case, he owns a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona White Dial 116520 with a steel bezel.

Watch expert Nico Leonard said in a review video that the model’s last production was in 2016. He estimated the price of Jungkook’s watch at US$18,000-20,000.

Random and questionable items

Like many click-happy internet users, Jungkook seems to be the type of person who’d buy random products after seeing them heavily advertised on search engines and websites. According to AllKpop, he bought an English learning tool advertised on Naver, WBSkin trainers, Wangta toothbrushes, a nano filter nose mask, frozen sugar canes and a conical Asian hat. But weirdest of all, he bought bandmate Suga’s old, used trousers that do not even fit him. Nope, we can’t figure that one out, either.
